Aposol - Story
I started playing UO in November of last year. (I got that 1 year reward coming any time) At the time, a rl friend was playing UO and was telling me how great it was. Her name was LL Trinity. She introduced me to IM Flecher my first day of UO. Shortly after I started, LL Trin quit playing, and things got much tougher. I pretty much hung out in town and killed what ever spawn came threw. It kinda sucked, but was better then getting PK'd every time I left the protection of the guards. I guess it was around February when I finally meet Leon for the first time, and became a member of DwB. Joining the guild is what made me keep playing UO. I sparred with Leon, woot and Jules in the Artist guild to work on my skills. Just before UO-R, I meet Arman. He was having some account problem, so I helped him out. In return, he gave me a deed to a small house that he had extra. We've been friends ever since. I like to do treasure maps and dungon crawls, still not much into PvP, but I'm sure I would do better now that my skills are all pretty descent. (Mage, everything is above 90 except resist, cart, and tact which I am dropping) In RL, my name is Michael and I'm 29 (30 in Feb). I'm married to Sarah and have two kids, Ashley (3 1/2) and Zach (1 1/2). I'm a IT Director for a medium sized (about 250 people) company in the central valley of California. I'm pretty much a family guy, which is why it's hard for me to make meetings. Other than UO, I enjoy anything high-tech, boating, fishing, and snow skiing. Well, thats pretty much it. Thanks to everyone who's help me, which is many of you. You've helped save my butt so many times I can not count. |

AppleSmash - Story
Well, I'll start with UO in my life, my Uo infatuation began years ago when i got Ultima 3 for my nintendo. From there on it grew with each new release. then the day i heard UO released in stores back in late '97. I bought it as if someone were going to sell me $5000 for $1. From that day forward (until i graduated high school) there was nothing but uo. I woke up, went to school, slept in school because i had been playing uo till 4 am, went home played uo till 4 am, and continued that viscious cycle. Then...I met a girl. I broke away a little. but. UO was like the girl i was cheating on with my girlfriend. I had to do it in secrecy. If she caught me, she cut my balls off and staple them to my forehead. But it didnt bother me, and i still have my balls three years later. The game chanegd as i played over the years. It seemed i found out about most bugs just as they were removing them. oh well. then the girl i mentioned above decided to part ways after 2.5 years. that was rough, I moved to Tampa from Clearwater (Florida)(no, i didnt screw up my ballot), disappeared from the DwB seen for about 4 or 5 months. I could only play at like 1 am. At one point my large smithy decayed. But then...after 1 month dry from uo. (and regaining my sanity from life's changes), i sat down logged on and decided to check things out. 5 seconds later i was addicted once again. And here i am. getting back into the swing of things. As for who I am? Im a 20 year old Computer Science major at University of South Florida takeing about 13 credits/semester in Tampa. For work i am an underpaid Network Admin. for a training facility. (Id get a new job, but with school, its impossible. my current job only requires me to be there for about 25 to 30 hours a week wich is perfect and my reason for staying whereas everyone else wants fulltime or greater employees.) So as you can see, with school and work, im still struggling a little with my uo attention (not to mention that i actually have friends now that my girlfriend is gone.) But i still try to be there when i can. WELLLLL, on that fateful day in 1997, i logged on to this amazing world. Tryed to play in catskills, was having shard problems so i moved to Chessy. The first 4 months of UO were solo. I didnt really care about guilds. I was just interested in exploring the land. I have an infatuation with swords in RL so, ultimatly, i created a swordsman. I wondered an wondered the Britannia continent every day, encounter great eveils. I remebr at one point a month it, i ran into a dragon in the woods East of vesper. I nearly soiled my armor, having never seen such creatures. Then as i ran. a mage whom was controlling these creatures appeared. I knew quite well what having a red name meant, so i ran and ran. As I ran, noticed a bunch of people actually running towards this murderer who was now following me with his dragon. At that moment these adventurers Charged the drogan paralyzing it, then untterly destroying its master, with a shower of ebolts. Then they summoned daemons, yet again i soiled my armor never having seen these creatures as well. at that moment two daemons(much stronger back then) and the mages tore this dragon apart. I was stunned to see such power. At that instant i was set on being a mage. After trying to talk to one o fthe mages for help after 5 min. of persistant nagging, one o fthem finally talked to me. asked me how new i was. I said one month old blah blah blah. He gave me pointers and donated me tons of armor and weapons. From that day forward, i promised myself when im that strong, I will help all newer players as he helped me. After growing for about 3 more months, and almost having Gmed tactics and swords, I met a person in town. He went by the name of Shouden. He was advertising that a guild he was in charge of was recruiting. I figured, now that im this kick but swordsman with a little magery, i should try this guild thing out. So I talked breifly and was told to meet at a tower near a swamp east of britain on the upcoming Sunday. After being lost for 20 min trying to find it, I finally did, he and another were at the door greeting recruits. I talked to him, he barely remembered me. He asked my how old my char was and his skills. He was worried. He didnt want experienced player like myself. i tried to convince him otherwise for a breif moment and he agreed to give me chance. AFter hearing was this guild DwB was about, i was totally for it. It was exactly what i wanted, to help new characters grow to be stronger and follow a path of honor just like that mage did for me. After that, I grew amazingly strong and knowledgable of this game. Then, came a concept of warring. Mainly my favorite part of this was KOC. Boy i miss them. They were a tough challenge, theykicked our butt, we kicked theirs also. but it kept the game interesting now thatI had explored the far reaches of the land. I was having so much fun. (And failing high school j/k) After about 6 motnsh or so though, people started leaving UO. Sir Dreadnought, then a few others, then finally Shouden. I started losing interest, Zan Faere took over, not because of him, but because a lot of peopl had left, and so i started straying a little bit, but never fully lost hope in DwB. Sure it got weak at certain times, but look at it now. But during this time i decide to create new characters. A blicksmith, a tinker, and archer. The archer was short lived. The tinker on the other hand was my journey into the evil side of UO. I ran around dungeons placing GM traps on spawned treasur chests in dungeons(back when they werent locked or trapped). and boom, easy loot. Imade out damn good. eventually bought a Large smithy with the earnings of my warrior and tinker. My smith was a long path. took me about 7 months to GM it cause it got boring. Now im currently working on other mule things. Applesmash soon after about my 2 year aniversary in DwB started to dissapear. I felt like DwB was dieing (read my RL story for that reason). His Large smithy left unattended was destroyed and looted by theives. Then after a long journey pondering himself through these new lands discovered(T2A) he finally found what he was looking for. He returned to Britania to find a DwB revivified under the leadership of leon Knight. And here he is today, Clear-headed and happy to see his old friends and make new ones in the guild. Ready to help out and give his life for his guild along with his companions Dakel the pure mage, Applesmush the blacksmith, Luscious the Rougue Theif. |

Doug - Story
This is just a bunch of stories, nothing important here, and kind of long. So... if you don't like long, pointless stories, you don't have to read this. I had followed the news of UO's release for a long time, after playing Ultima 7 on my 386 20MHz computer. I thought, wow, this game is gonna be great. I eventually scrounged up enough money to get a crappy AMD 5x86 computer (equivalent to Pentium 75 maybe...) and short after, bought UO. I probably bought it right when it came out, since it was still available in stores with the cloth map and all. Anyways, I played the game using my junky PC and slow AOL connection. Nonetheless I had a blast. I had no idea what to do at first, it seemed so complicated. I went and killed a few llamas outside, getting killed myself a few times. Of course, I always insta-ressed. I tried running to towns via moongates, and tried dungeons as well. I don't know how else to organize these, but here goes: Scene one: Me, walking around Britain bank, picking up stuff people have dropped. Wands, shirts, scrolls. I save up the money to buy lockpicks, since my previous runs through Destard told me the chests were locked. I buy lockpicks and run into Destard, insta-ressing whenever I died to retrieve my picks. I open a chest and find normal platemail, weapons, and scrolls. I'm like, holy moly! Then, I died somehow (must've lagged), and find myself being looted. I insta-res again, and say to the looter "Hey, that's my stuff! Give it back please" You know, typical newbie comments. I manage to salvage some items, and run back to town. Unfortunately, I was killed by an orc captain on the way, and my "body lacked cohesion with my spirit" or something like that, so no more insta-res for me. Scene two: Walking around Britain bank once again, picking stuff up. I find a bag of studded bustiers someone has dropped. I made about 2k selling them. I had never had so much money before! Scene three: I manage to kill a troll outside of Britain with fireballs and lightning. I grab the massive 300g and run back to town to buy more reagents. I find a box on the ground. Of course, I open it and die. I insta-res, hoping to get the money back. It's looted obviously, and I try to ask for the money back. No luck. Scene four: I ask around at the bank how to make money. One person suggests mining. So, after finally figuring out how to mine, I start doing it. I make a couple thousand after a few hours, and go buy myself a set of rose-colored plate from a vendor (this was when colored plate could only be bought from stores). I decide to go hunting, building my mace skill. I attack a grizzly, and when I am low on health, a guy throws a purple potion at me. I was very slow to react, so I died again (these potions did up to 40 damage before). I insta-res (again!), only to find myself looted again. My killer told me, "You know Doug, it's not a very good idea to insta-res." I ask for my stuff back, pleading, and he tells me to get a clue. Doh! I eventually make more money mining, raising my magery. I hunted in Orc Valley, killing hundreds of orcs. I went from fireballs to lightning, to energy bolts. I found out that Mindblast had no effect on the orcs and some guy laughed at me, bah. Scene five: I decide to take a trip to Wrong. As I enter, I notice a box on the ground, and a bunch of scattered newbie clothes, as if someone had died. I thought, "Hmm, might be a trap," but I open the box anyway. Guess what? I died! I insta-res again, seeing my belongings disappear into thin air (someone was hiding and looting). I ran back to town, thinking of how much magery I had just lost. I went from 80-something to 70-something magery. That was the last time I ever insta-resed. Scene six: I decide to raise intelligence by using Item ID. I used it for hours manually IDing items, and macroed it overnight once. After getting 104 int, I decide to stop (though that's not possible anymore). This also explains why Item ID was one of the skills that I had. Scene seven: I'm getting bored with UO, nothing to do but kill orcs. I see this guy named Derek, recruiting for a new guild. He asks me if I'm a fighter or mage, so I tell him my skills. He tells me, "Great, I'll take you to Serpent's Hold for the guild meeting." I ask if I need to wear that darn brown cape he's wearing, and he says yes. I almost don't join the guild just because of that... I go to Serpent's Hold and see the people Trundle mentioned in his story. [cut out big part of story here] Eventually, Derek left for some reason, and told us to go find a new guild to join. We decided to try to keep the guild together, but eventually it broke apart. Trundle, Zowee, and Radagast (I think) tell me to join DwB, and tell me it's a great guild. I think about it for a while and eventually join. So that's how I eventually came to DwB. In real life I'm a student at Portland State University way over here in Oregon. I wanted to do something in computers at first, so I chose computer science. I may have liked programming and stuff before, but I decided that it was not something I wanted to do, so I wanted to change. The only thing I enjoyed learning was the foreign language classes I was taking. So, I thought, "Hmm, what could a foreign language major do?" Well... I've decided I want to be a teacher. I'm working towards a PhD in Japanese, going to see if I can fit another language class in there. Hopefully I can manage to eventually teach at a university level. *You glance outside and notice the sun is coming up. For the Love of God! You've been listening to this fool for hours! You begin to nod off into sleep, your eyes getting droopy. You no longer hear his words, but just see his mouth moving non-stop as he blabbers on and on. Ahh, sweet, sweet slumber...* |

Garr - Story
Well I started playing UO the day it came out I was living with zeratul (my father in-law) zer who I will call charles for the rest of the story bought the game the first day it came out, we were so worried that it would be sold out after hearing all the hype in chat rooms of diablo. When charles finally let me play the game I created a assasin I was expecting to sneak into a castle and off some king or something instead I got guard killed mulitple times and ended up turning grey cause of bad fame. Running around grey and dieing and insta ressing was pretty much all i did for my first few months, I eventually bought the game my self and played days and days I played 36 hours strait one time, time had no meaning to me. As dishes stacked up next to my desk and I started to hunch over more and more in my computer chair I eventually got the hang of the game. After about 6 months into the game Charles and I thought it was time to start saving for our fist uo house we put days and days into it, we chopped wood made bows and sold them to vendors in the provisioner shops even though houses were only 12k then we put alot of time and effort into it we placed our house about where Marv and Rads house is south of britain. We loved that house The thing i remember most about it was one day charles was doing something in the house and forgot to shut the door, well a pk decided to go in there and kill him I get this ICQ that says I need help at the house. I grab my shield and sword equip and ran for the battle when I arrived the guy had finished looting charles and the house I approached him and said "STOP" this guy killed me with 2 lightning bolts Sitting there as ghosts we vowed to shut the door behind us for now on. For the next couple of years we met alot of wierd and cool people charles and I have been in many guilds We even had our own a couple of times. I remember my first So called good character this guy had 100 str 5 int and 45 dex his whole strategy was to smash stuff with a halbred I got so mad after this one guy killed me one day I insta ressed 15 times in a row destroying this guy i then made a mage and had alot of fun with him. Currently I play uo about 14 hours a week probably alot more then that. I am going back to school in January where I will study to get my CISCO certifications I will still play uo alot. I work at UPS I am a network/computer technician. |

Hengist (HappyDaze) - Story
Just wanted to say that I've really enjoyed reading the histories of various people... and I figured I would throw in a brief bit of my own. I started playing UO the first day it hit store shelves (I had played the original on an apple II+ back in 1980). I played on laggy atlantic back then because Chessie hadn't been started yet. The first time I saw DwB was at a pk war at the xroads. I had just come back from the healers (dead again) and found all the pks had been chased away. And guess who had chased em? Give up? DwB! I thought... Man! This is a guild for me! Sir Dreadnought was there and I spoke to him about joining (I also remember AppleSmash was there running looking to ebolt reds). Dreadnought gave me this long interview and then I had to prove myself at the tower sparring in a two v/s two match. I think I won (can't remember). Shouden then bestowed his blessing upon my head and allowed me to join. I was really excited! Then the fun began... that very night that I was accepted and I was out hunting in the woods with a couple of DwBs (I think Journey was there) we got a frantic call to come to the tower... some thing foul was afoot. We recalled to the tower and saw a char named Mr Hand with the letters KOC above his head. I was brand new to the guild so I didn't really know what was goin on. He then admitted that he and some other KOC buds were looting the Tower. The rest is hazy but we wound up spending the rest of the night fighting them through the swamp... back and forth between the tower and their guild house. That was definitely an exciting time for me! I later joined LOV and then shortly after quit UO because my girlfriend (who is now my fiance) gave me a choice... her or UO... I chose her and gave my account away to someone in LOV. A few months later I grew a few more hairs on my privates and decided to stand-up for my rights... hehe... and bought another account on Ebay... So now I'm stuck with a character named HappyDaze... I sure wish they'd come out with the name-change deeds. Anyway... in real life I'm 34 years old and live in NYC where I was born. I got a degree in Anthropology and was (until last semester) working on a Masters degree. I work for the Army Corps of Engineers as an archaeologist for the Environmental Analysis Branch. I hate it and I'm looking to do something else... probably Forensic science in Law enforcement. I guess that's it... Please keep posting the histories... they are great fun to read! |

Jules Van Newton - Story
my beginings by Jules Van Newton posted 12/1/2000 9:27:03 AM I started uo in february of las year. I had heard alot about pks so i was kind of weary about going antwhere outside of trinny where i started. I overheard at the bank that brit was bigger and had more people. at this time there were alot of undead attacks in trinny and being new i dided alot. Well about 4 days after starting i got brave and with my 12 dex managed to run all the way to brit. On my way i passed a fellow archer named rooftop. he just said hi and went on his way. I guess my name stuck out because everytime he saw me in brit he said hi. I made my beginings of a small fortune by having arms lore and item id and buying the magic weps people sold to vendors and reselling them for a profit at the bank. After seeing rooftop sparring with a new guild mate i went hunting with them one night. The guildmate was woot. he basically became the person who recruited me. He was a really cool guy and kept me alive at all costs. in my first guild hunt Leon, Cartman, woot, rooftop, stoofolo sodor, and new moon, and some others went to t2a. i was in awe of how these guys handled the ophids. it was so much fun i was hooked with you guys. Unfortunately i dont know what happened to woot and rooftop. they were rl friends and stopped around same time. the rest is history. right now im into pvp and playing my bard. he is so much fun. in rl i live in allentown, PA im 26 years old. I sell fun at droney park and wildwater kingdom. meaning, i sell tickets to large groups and get companies to have their employee picnics at the park. its a fun job sometimes. my gf hates uo so when shes home from school thats why you dont see me for a few days. So xmas will be tough on my uo time but thats the way it goes sometimes. thats my story and im stickin to it |

Keebler - Story
Well in all honest after reading Azzy's post i figured that like a couple other times this wouldnt turn out so big, but after ready ALL of everybody elses posts I found it very intresting to read about other peoples stories. So here goes mine It all start with actually an ass hole i knew in RL, belieave it or not because of him i started on Baja. That did not last long, i had no idea what i was doing he said he'd help but never did. Not knowing what to do i kept going around time and cutting up bodies of dead people (dont ask why cause i dont know) i quickly became Dread lord. I said fuck that charecter then i said fuck that shard. I later found out that my RL friend yes you all know her ;) stretch played UO. I got started on chessy going threw many charecters just to see what possibilites there were. I eventually figured out that if i wanted to make it anywhere in UO i had to have money, so like everybody else who needs money i started mining. Stretch me and a friend of ours named i belieave Toby (i cant really remember) would stay up all night (stretch and i called them pullin an all nighter) we stayed up all night mining packed it up and went to school ;) each night we would do that. Eventually we met a good friend that we had for a while (i cant remember his name now) and started our first guild TMK The Mystic Knights. I dont necisarly remember why but that guild did not last long at all. I continued to play and explore Britania mining and making little cash. The early stuff for me is fairly vegue because thats when Marry Jane came into my life (thanks Jen) :) My brother started playin sometime around then and joined SoF, after begging and begging my brother and Jen I finally got into SoF with our GM Bondo. Unfortinitly I got into that guild right as it fell apart. nAi came next for me (for some reason i really liked the idea of guilds). Once again with Bondo as our GM the guild was extreamly PvP oriented. I did not do so well knowing very little about PvP. I used my archerer the best I could in town fights loosing nearly every time just trying to get away with a little loot from fallen foes. I must admit i was a follower in my early stages of UO, Stretch then moved to DwB. I had heard of DwB that they were a large guild that stood for good and honor, I was imidiatly intrested. Stretch for the longest time did not want me to follow so i worked my archery to gain magery, and just did that for about two months in which i was finally aloud to attend a DwB meeting as a recruit of hers. Zan was the GM at the time, and something i'm very proud of is that when i fought that infamus ele, I was able to summon it my self ;) I've been in DwB since about two or three months before zan left. I've been threw atleast 2 or 3 rough times for DwB and stuck with it because of the friendship i found within. After stretch became Dark Councle, i made my vow one day I would join the ranks of the dark councle. A few months later I had some problems in real life with school and my social life and had to quit due to addiction (of UO). Well there was also the reason that the two story i bought with Danasty's account i let decay because i was not playin enough. I later realized that I was more mature and able to controll alot more things in my life and I had some girl trouble right before i restarted which is most of the reason why i came back. I figured well no girlfriend, that created a void, hmmmm I wonder what can fill that void ;) You guessed it, i was back and imidiatly intrested once again despite the changes that UO had gone through. I cant even remember what month i came back now (i think it was about 4 months ago) god i'm such a pot head ;(. Anyway I found out that right before i quit Trundle had told me that two weeks after i quit i probably would have become DC, so my quest for it continues to this day. I have been granted the pword to the board so my takeover...oops i mean quest is comming along. ;) I strive now adays to help the guild and just plain enjoy hangin whit you guys. Well that was a long post so i'm going to post another to get my real life in, it probably wont be as long but alota shit seems to happen in my life. Well I was born in 1983 September 14th. I grew up a general ass hole, stubborn, and argumentativ. Ever since the day I could speak in full sentances my parents have always told me i should be a loyer just because i found pleasure in arguing. I do but thats beside the point *smerks*. Anyway my childhood was like any other, playing outside every day after school till i dropped, unlike these kids now aday *smile*. I was always a little bad ass in school, chased girls around starting in 4th grade and lit my first fire on the playground in 3rd. I started smoking cigerets at age 9 (4th grade) off and on, i didnt really start smoking heavy till age twelve. Then Ultrazone became a big part of my life, commonly known as a hang out place people played lazertag there. I hung out with mainly older people (20-30 year olds) and got to know the way the world worked. I eventually got a job their at age 15 and worked their for 8 months. I'll skip alot of bull shit inbetween now and then just cause it would take forever to type. Recently I have 4 main friends two guys and two girls. One of the guys is my best friend, and the other 3 are really good friends of mine. I met the two girls early in Jr. high and dated one of em for 7 months. after that 7 months she left me for somebody who is now one of my really good friends, for two years i hung out with them and did normally friend stuff. I am now having problems because, the girl in I now realize we still love each other. I wont go further into that just cause its personal and you probably dont want to here it. I now work as a "head" lifeguard makin decent money. I got expelled from school this year 4 days after school started for having narcotics in my car on school grounds. I faced criminal charges for it last week and lost my licinse for six months ;(. as a result to getting kicked out of school i took and passed my GED and i work 7 days a week to be able to save up to move out. I plan on going to collige (starting at community and transfering) and if that works out, belieave it or not going off to law school. I just realized I posted way to much about my personal life but I aint feel like changing it now so....HAHA you read it all! *evil smerk* The Fucked up little elf Keeb Sr. BTW the girl that I'm now in love with, you can thank her for giving me the name Keebler ;) |

Lazarus - Story
I first started playing UO with my best rl friend Titanis. We played the game not too long after it first got started and it was one of the best times of my life. We would run from point A to point B and run from mongbats and everything else that was grey to us. I remember once we went to Covetous with no armor or anything. The only thing that I had was a heavy xbow with 30 dex and I would wonder why I couldn't shoot anything. Not after too long did I wise up. I started making bows which got me strength and money. One day I was running through brit and ran into a helluva guy named Hengist. Hengist was on top of his strong looking horse as well I was on mine and he was telling me about a "guild." Well at the time I didn't know what a guild was and I thought it was some kind of trick (had ran into pks like Nemesis, Elmer Fudd, and Ezkial?) Anyway I place my faith into Hengist and join the best damn guild on Chessy. Back when I join you didn't fight an elemental, but rather pvp against other recruits or current members. Me and Titanis were on teams against 2 other people and won, and with that came the chicken dance. Since then I have be on and off the DwB stone. I took a break and came back to a whole different game, you had to disarm your weapon to drink and a potion, members were gone and the guild was at a dark point in its existance. I'll never forget those members that made this game become a part of my life. One never thinks that when he's 70 or 80 that he'll never remember the games he used to play, but let me tell you something. The only way I'll stop playing UO is if OSI take the servers down for good. BTW Hengist had quit, but he brought another account, HappyDaze. Also I miss Lys and Armani, two of the greatest people even to leave this game. I just wish they could drop us a line so we know that they are ok. DwB Forever |

Leon Knight - Story
Well, it started one christmas day almost four years ago. I got UO and a modem for christmas (The last things I opened that year). Two days after that I finally had my older brother (Sejanus) install the modem and game. God it was laggy back then. I remember starting in some cool looking town on an island surrounded in a forrest. I ran to the Moon gate and was attacked by a player (With a kewldood name I believe, not that I can remember it) and made it back to town. I finally made it to the moongate and got to a lovely city, Trinsic. I ended up playing UO for around 15 hours in a row when finally sleep got me. On my second day I went out the back way of Trinsic and met a woman by the name of Sarah. She was grey do to attacking a friend in a dungeon and this was her first day in UO. Me being young (Like 13 at the time) I put my trust in her and we sparred. She would become the greatest friend I ever had for the first two years of my UO life. We ended up starting a guild where I met another great friend (Joel aka SET) and recruied him into the guild, Brotherhood of something, heh. Guild didn't work out and from there I moved to LOV and met Gideon and, agh, can't remember our GM at the time. Anyway, LOV didn't work out. GM left for StarCraft and I tried to GM it but it was too hard and I finally left. Thanks though, to an important event which had happened before this, I was able to get wind of DwB. A few weeks before I joined LOV I met a player outside the third Brit bank (THe counselor's guild used to be a bank), named Optimus Rime. I had been talking abit to this woman, who I had just met, when OP asked me to transfer some stuff and a horse. I remember it being very laggy that night but I was still able to get OP his stuff (Turns out he was friends with the woman I was speaking with and thought I was friends with her too, which was the only reason he asked me to transfer them. What luck, eh?). A few days later I ran into OP again, outside Trinsic and we met hunting lizzies in the swamp north of there. We fought lizzies and watched as a group of blues attacked a group of red's house. At this point we gave each other our ICQs and he went to bed for the night. I then joined LOV and after I left it. OP asked me if I'd help him make money to buy a one room house by the DwB's tower. So of course I said yes and for the next two days we spent every hour online together mining and making kite shields. Near the end of a long few hours of doing this he asked me if I was guildless, yes was the answer, and that's when he popped me the question if I wanted to join DwB. I think you all know the answer. :) I joined DwB hoping just to be in a guild which stuck together unlike the last few I had been in. I got far more then I asked for. Noteable events in my history with the guild: Drake taming night: A bunch of us got together after Hengist got around 97 taming and we gated to Destard. Zan, Shouden, um, and I forget who else went into Destard while the rest of us waited outside. They got a drake through a gate and to outside DwB tower. I, as all old members will know, rarely had regs to recall and when I did I fizzled. So Shouden came outside of Destard and let me use his rune, lucky I made it. Once we were outside the Tower again Armani went up close and personal with the drake to weaken it. It took something like 40 minutes to finally tame the drake and I kept using Gheals on it to keep it from dying. Zan said I should stop because it turned me grey and KoC lived by us but oh no, you see. Zan said he'd pick one person as the outstanding member of that event and give them 3K I believe and boy I wanted to be that. So I went ahead, keeping it alive. After it was tamed Hengist was named the outstanding member and got the 3K, I've hated him ever since (J/K!!!!!!!). Nah, kidding. My DC fight: Beatle and I got our shot at becoming DC members. Us, being good friends, were both happy. Then it turned out we had to fight each other for the same spot!! We both used swords at first but I then switched and used an e-bolt and lightning scrolls against him and then drank a yellow potion (6-9 life meant something back then when you had 64str). It was a Hell of a close battle and I was said to be the winner even though I will admit I think Beatle got me there first. Captain of the Meeting Guards; Sisko and I rock a baddy: Shouden made the job of Meeting Guard and asked people to sign up. I did so and was picked as captain of the meeting guards. I hand picked my first, Beatle and Lys. Our job was to guard the Tower (Back then you couldn't ban people or change the locks). We all had Tracking skills and tracked before opening the door to make sure no one was ever let in unless they were DwB. I remember one day we had a new recruit who walked right in and started stealing stuff from chests. I noticed this when I saw him keep moving closer to one of the chests and then I used my snooping skill (I had gotten it up somewhat for this job) and noticed he had alot of our stuff. So I ICQed the rest of the Meeting Guards and let them know. I think it was Laz and I who killed this guy (Was it you, Laz?). Another time I remember is when a guy stuck inside the Tower. Sisko started throwing GEs around to get him unhidden and when he did I went after him with my katana wacking him as Sisko dropped an e-bolt on his head killing him. Ah, there are too many great memories to post them all. Heh, I'll stop with just these few. Anyway, after Shouden left the game Zan took over as GM and they both named me Commandant. That night Zan and I sat down and picked out the new DC members. We went other everyone and desided who'd be the ones to lead us on. After a while work started to get to Zan and his playing time was cut big time. A few months after that, Zan stepped down and I was named GM of DwB. I picked Trundle as my Commandant. We worked real well together. Well, time went on, we did our DwB thing and now we're here today. I was born 1983 in NY, May 27th and from that day on my mom and dad's life has been a living Hell. :) My dad was a school teacher and thus from seeing how f%^#ed up the school system was from the inside he and my mother desided that home schooling was what was the best thing. We, four kids, have all been home schooled. We used to live in a huge apportment complex, many friends, much fun. In 1990 my dad's job, United Airlines, closed down in NY and we moved to VA where a new office was opening up. In 1992 we finally got our house, which as Keebler likes to put in I believe, "is in the middle of bum fuck". I love it, heh. We all had gotten into writing at an early age, probably got it from our dad (Who was a playwriter/director/actor/producer in NY), and also messed around with old computer games. Sejanus and I used to love making games with the game creators which used to be a dime a dozen but now you're lucky to see a dozen released in ten years. At this point we want to make games for a living. It's pretty much our main reachable goal in life (I don't think I can make it to the NBA, heh). We spend many hours writing, programming, and designing new games every week working on our skills. At this point college is in my mind. Although I am not too sure about it now. After looking into it I've found most things in college to be a waste of time when I already know what I want to do in life, design games. Right now the only sure thing I know as far as college goes is that I will be getting into programming to learn it, meet other programmers, and see if I can get a few good ones to form a real game team. I believe that's all, heh. Yeah, I know it's long. Name: Cody James Faraone Age: 17 Sex: Male |

Loada - Story
Sorry it took me so long to post anything. heh. But here goes some background for ya. It will be my 2 year uo anniversary on Dec 12. I started playing with a old friend I've known since we were kids. He had been playing for about 8 months before I started. His name was Forge. We only played together for a month. He gave me a small house deed to place. I placed our house near Vesper within 3 weeks of playing. Kinda lucky I'd say. The day after I placed that house, Forge and I took a walk around the woods. We walked up apon a house that had just decayed It had 3 chest full of great lewt. Including 7 black dye tubs. That next week Forge quit the game for good. I sold 1 dye tub at a time to support a mages bad habit of burning regs for skills. Anyhow, after Forge left the game I didn't really ever do anything with anyone. I'm a loner. Hermit. I'm a char trainer. I ran vendors for a long time and learned how to profit from it. I got involved with a pk guild for a while LRD, Legend of the Red Dragon. They trained me how to gang bang people and lewt houses. I didn't really care for it. I left LRD and joined COV, Clan of Vampires. I tried to do a little rp. One day my old gm of lrd asked me to come over they were looting a house. I was bored so I recalled over. The house they were looting was like 3 screens away from LRD HQ. I get to the house and we EQ'd about 3 people to death, then began looting. Next thing I know is i'm getting ICQ's from COV Members saying 'Is that you looting my house???' So I was kicked out of COV and never talked to the gm from LRD again. That was about a year and a half ago. I haven't been in a guild since. I made my own guild, but only my char's are on the stone. I am still hooked on seeing my char's skills go up. I want to start playing the game a little more and do some pvp. I have 3 houses on 2 accts and I play 10 char's on chessy. There's a lot in this game I have never seen. Including many dungeons. Ok some real life stuff. Sorry this is getting long but that's what happens. I grew up in Mississippi. I now live in Colorado. I'm 24 and married to a cute japanese girl. I went to culinary school where i met my wife. She is a baker i'm a cook. I work crazy hours that's why you won't see me much. Or i'm just being a hermit. Pleased to meet everyone. I hope I can get more involved with DwB and uo. And I plan to spend the rest of my days in uo with DwB and friends. Thanks everyone :) |

Masta Mage - Story
It all started when my twin brother signed up to beta test UO. We were selected and signed up. There was no Chesapeake until about 6 months into the official game, after it went public, so we both had characters on Atlantic. At first there were only like 4 or 5 servers, and Atlantic seemed to be the closest. I'm sure everybody remembers the first few weeks in game, everything was new, the possibilities were endless. Youd just wander and get lost, and see endless forests of nothingness. That was the best time in game, discovery was the primary goal, trying to find a place for yourself. After I learned about pvp, i was hooked. I quickly joined up with a guild called AoD, Army of Darkness (not the one on Ches nor affiliated at all) and we'd go around killing other people, we were as far as i know, teh first pk guild on atlantic. We'd go to despise and firefield the enterance and the characters would unwillingly walk right into our little trap. Soon, my brother and i wanted multiple characters, so i decided id move to chesapeake when it came out. I quickly joined BoM Brotherhood of Metal, and was a pk once again, this time under a guy named Brother Justice. This quickly lost its fun, and for the first time i quit the game, around a year into its exhistance. About 6 months later, i rejoined and teh world have evolved into something i was lost in. I died constantly, monsters were nothing like they used to be, they actually put up somewhat of a fight, and other players also knew what they were doing. Swordsmanship was no longer a skill anyone used, Archery became the primary skill of choice. It was at this time i ran into a fellow named Hengist. The afternoon i met him, he told me how the game had changed, and how i would need archery if i wished to pursue killing creatures. He made me my first bow and a few arrows and helped me along while i learned. He invited me to join a guild - DwB - led by Shouden, a great leader, who scheduled regular meetings. I was initated with the naked chicken dance, and killed a water elemental, and became a mundane mage(?). The ranking system at that time was ingenious, there were three ladders of skill, mages, warriors, and archers. Only a few weeks into my membership and i was given a shot at third circle warrior, against a noble foe. Mole was his name, and i prepared all day to fight. I defeated mole and became a Dark council member. I looked up to the few members at the very top of the ladder, Rand al thor, and Optimus Rime, two guys who were really tough, Sisko, Zan Farare and Derek, three guys who could cast 8th circle spells, and of course Shouden. I could hold my own in a fight, but i wasnt the powerhouse i wanted to be, so i left DwB in search of a more pvp oriented guild. The ranking system also changed so there was a big shakedown within the guild. At this time i joined the ranks of PR (phantom regiment), a small but prestigous guild i was able to join because of my charming and personable personality. =) I learned from a few guys who would later join KoC, Mr. Plox, Ivan Parthor and Terevex to name a few. I quickly became friends with Talathin and Tamsin, harkel, and a few of the others. We would go on pk hunts, mostly Clan Lupar (i think we had a personal grudge against them) and KoC, MoA and J-D(i think they were around). About two months after i joined, PR was split up to have a warring division which i joined, and a non warring stone and a trade stone. This eventually led to the demise of PR. Some went to Europa, but those that stayed formed a guild called JJE (Judge Jury Executioner). We would hunt, hang out, and just have an awesome time. We were all friends, did little recruiting and tried to fight as much as we could. Sooner or later, we wanted something bigger, so we merged with a dying LoV, and formed LOV. I played for a bit then decided to quit when i became too addicted. this departure lasted about 2 months and i rejoined and played with characters in DwB and LOV. I fought wiht lov for another few months, and when UO:R came out, i felt another break was an order. I was fed up with osi and i felt like they were trying to kill pvp, im still mad for what they have done to pks, pks made the game interesting, made it exciting to leave town. Finally we come to today when im trying to rejoin, to be honest, im not sure what guild i will join when i come back, but know this, my heart will always belong to dwb for all the knowlege theyve instilled in me and all the money, time and effort its members have put into me. Thanks, |

Radagast - Story
This was a good idea Az, its fun to find out this kinda stuff. Well I entered the world of UO in August 1998, a little less than a year after the final release of UO. I was drawn to the game by a couple rl friends, who promply left right after i joined (like they quit the same week i started). So some guy named Derek was shouting about recruiting for a guild around the bank the day after I found out my friends had left, and the rest is history... I joined OeS and started to learn the game there, as well as met people like Trundle and Doug and Dragonlance. Trun covered OeS though so I'll just get on with it. In Nov. of 98 OeS was falling apart and I was very close to quitting the game. So I went to the Brit bank and saw Lazarus [DwB] who I had hunted with in Shame with Trundle. Laz invited me to join DwB after I told him about the situation. So I joined DwB and have stuck with the guild ever since. RL I'm 17 going to high school in Atlanta. My time is split between the growing amount of work from my classes, social life, and the stuff i do on my computer (my webpage, uo, starting a unreal or q3 mod, deciding what game to do a mod of) so I find a lot less time for UO than I once did. But there is hope, after all I found the time to type all this :P |

Raistlin - Story
Well to start, I have family that plays. My father, Sir Charles/Zeratul, and my brother in law, Garr, were the ones who brought me into this world. I used to play Diablo a lot on my dad's computer and I thought it was the coolest thing. They bought this UO game and I didn't know much about it, still don't know a whole lot about it. However, I got to playing and it was really cool because of the interactivity that comes along with it. Well, when I originally played on my dad's computer, I made a warrior back then named Raistlin too (who is now erased). He sucked and his abilities were pathetic. However, one day some guy just gave me all kinds of stuff. He gave me a full set of plate armor, a house and boat deed, lots of gold and many other things. Lucky enough it was next to the bank. However, my guy was overloaded and the next thing I knew, I wasn't close enough to the bank to put my stuff in. My dad took over and that was the last time I saw that character. Finally, I got my computer around June and began playing myself because my sister, Garr's woman, bought me the game. Well, I loaded up and was playing like a crazy man. Ran into some financial setbacks here and there and just recently got back on. My dad has helped turn my warrior into a 3 time GM. That's where I am at today. I just recently joined the OeS and plan on taking over the world. J/K of course. I currently have a mage/animal tamer in the making but he has a long way to go... |

Shouden - Story
RL: Once upon a time, before UO was even popular...there existed Diablo. Just about everyone who played Diablo migrated eventually to UO. The hype of UO in the chatrooms started to be heard. OSI just opened the public beta test! This means that ANYONE with the software could play! Well of course, I immediately filled out the form and had a UO account created. I searched high and low for UO. In my searches, I located a guy in a chatroom who was distributing UO to a bunch of dial-up(33.6Kbps) users. I made a deal with him. I worked at the time for an Internet Provider. The deal I made was that he drops the people downloading from him at the time, and he let ONLY me download it from me. Afterwhich, I was to start distributing it to other people. Me, working for an ISP obviously had more resources to put towards this. Over 250 people downloaded UO from me. At that time, this was a big thing, UO being 425MB in size. A download of this size was unheard of at the time. But people did it anyway. ;) Once I had my UO up and working, I immediately wanted to start a guild. I wasn't sure how to proceed, but I had already done enough research with UO, and I had decided on a name...the Dark Warriors of Trinsic. Trinsic was the city in which my first character was born...Shouden. UO: Shouden's first view of life, was outside a building in Trinsic. I cannot recall which building, only that it was golden in color. The entire city looked like this. I immediately knew that I wanted to be a warrior. A swordsman was the only practical way to go at this time. I was standing near the mage shop one day, when I ran into Static. Who later became my first real friend, and the person who would help inspire me to progress the guild. Static and Shouden worked together and built a training hall. Not many members can recall this training hall anymore. It was located near the western britain mountain pass. This was our pride and joy. Our decision for a training hall is that we were planning on recruiting many members. In doing such, we would need a place for them to train. :) We had two red thrones in there for Static and I to sit. ahhh...the drinks, the conversations, the PKs. :) We were near prime PK territory. Right next to the pass. After a bit of time passed, Static became more distant, not coming to the training hall with me to sit and be merry. I started to wonder about him. Soon, I heard of horrific deeds done by Static from other friends that I knew. I confronted Static about these deeds, and he admitted to them. At this time, he told me that in order for the Guild name to save face, and he would have to leave the guild. I begged for him to reconsider. My first friend...a murderor. How inconcievable. However, he would be there to protect me blade by blade. He may have been a murderor, however we WERE friends first. We grew apart after this time, and we went our separate ways, keeping in contact with each other. This night in aggrivation, and not knowing what to do with myself, I ran out of our training hall, and started running west. I remember running, and running, and running, not sure what I was looking for....what I would find this night, would change my life forever... |

Trundle - Story
Guess its my turn. by Trundle posted 12/1/2000 11:08:25 AM I started UO back when UO started. My very first character was a guy named Aluuk. He didnt really work out because i picked fighting skills and all that stuff. So instead after talking to some people i found out that if i wanted to get anywhere in this game i should make some money first. So i deleted Aluuk and made Trundle. I gave him 50 mining 50 blacksmithing. I worked for months just mining and smithing. Making the brown kite shield and selling them to the npc armors. Thats how i made the little bit of money i had. My mining was about at 96 when i was walking throught brit around the west bank i believe. I saw this guy standing at one of the corners of the bank yelling something about recruiting for a new guild. I was like...well all this time and i havent tried out a guild yet, so i figured what the hell. I went up said i was intrested and wanted to join. The guys name was Derek. He asked me my skills and i told him mining and smithing. And he turned me down saying that they need fighters or some BS. Well anyways i wasnt going to take no for an answer so i saw him there about an hour later and asked him again, and he said no agian. I asked him the next day i saw him, and he said no. I asked him agian and he was like fine just be here at this certain time. I showed up at that time and began to see the faces that would make up my new guild. All of the members were new except the gm and 2nd in command. Lets see if i can remember all the faces. There was Radagast, Dragonlance, Doug, Madskillz, Bremen, and me. The leaders names were Derek and Malcom. Well me not being a fighter and knowing jack about it i was both amazed and overwhelmed by it all. I spent many a night under the wing of Bremen. He showed me alot of what i know, and helped me work my skills. The guild was OeS (Order of the Easter Star). It was a very small guild, but a very loyal guild. At one point we even made ranks in the guild, and of course being the person in the guild Derek didnt really care for i was at the bottom. I will finish later right now i gotta go to work.....hehe this is kinda fun. eek...one more member i forgot...Zowee. It was not far after that that Derek had to leave the game. That left OeS to us seven members. After much trial and error and the losing of some of us and then getting us back, i managed to weasel my way into GM. I recruited alot of ppl into the guild. The stone had alot of members, but it didnt mean anything because there was no loyalty or conformity. I was in the process of trying to rebuild when a recruit named Mojo stole the key to my forge and begain a year long fued between me rad zowee and Mojo twigge and what other lame friend they could manage. There were lots and lots of battles. Some really funny ones. For example me and rad were inside my forge when we saw a gate open up. We both hid in the forge and out pops mojo, twigge and goatboy. They unlock the door come in. Start talking about how they are going to make this their house and then start to fight each other for fun. When they were low on health we popped out of hidding and killed them. It was so funny. Anyways not long after the first war with Mojo the guild soon fell apart. And i followed my best ingame friend at the time (rad) to DwB. I managed to work my way up the ranks with good ideas and hard work. I was the DC to replace Mole. There is more but i figure that is enough typing. RL I am a freshman in college, I live in Virginia Beach, VA. I am a computer arts major. I am working as a waiter right now and i must say...GOD DAMN I HATE THAT JOB!!! Well Talk to you guys later. |

Will of Sycamore - Story
I started UO the day after thanksgiving, Nov 26, 1997 with Will of Sycamore. There is a sycamore tree outside our window. I read all about how to spar with each other or against the dummies to build skills and stats but found it boring. So instead I spent most of my time in the woods east of Brit. Fight a little and run a lot .. and die too. Boy those chickens were tough. The east woods were favorite PK territory and I was killed quit often but learned to run well in the woods. I started as an archer since that seemed like a good skill, particularly for a newbie but quickly learned it wasn't and switched to swords. It has since changed several times and is now again a good skill to have. I had no magery and wanted none, that was for wimps ;-) I did learn quickly and raised my skills but still died often. It is hard for people now to believe but most PKs used fireball to kill ...and it did. Guess the game was too new for many to have high magery and it was more powerful then compared to archery or melee. The first week I helped another hunter and we started hunting together. He wanted me to join his guild but they required the members to make a new character with the guild in his name. He wanted me to be Will of ???. I declined. To make money, I picked up stuff laying around and cut hides to sell. Thought I was rich. Guess I was since I need so little. A few weeks after I started I was in town by the Conservatory of Music when some guy named Shouden asked if I wanted some money. I said yes of course. He gave me 100 gp and envited me to join his guild. Wow, a signing bonus ;-) I joined the next Sunday, after my naked chicken dance. We did not fight monsters then. or maybe I forget. I made Willmine about then to make money mining and Wilbow to lumberjack/bowyer. I did not see other members much (and still don't) since I worked nights and also because I had to run to the tower from Brit, no magery. Shouden and Sir Dreadnought were at the tower a lot late at night so I saw them. I was mostly a loner when hunting and did thing like jump into whatever gate opened. Spent almost a week on Deceit island once since I could not recall and no one would gate me. We split the guild soon after that and several of us including Shouden moved to Catskills to form a branch there. Better connection to Florida there. We mined a lot to make money and were well on our way when Shouden said there was trouble back in Chessy and we all returned. Haven't left Chessy since. During a recruiting night at the Brit bank Shouden asked me to record the people who we talked to. I have been recording ever since. Actually I could keep up with it because my wife was watching all the time and she would write the information down while I controlled the game. Shouden thought I was very efficent. My wife now plays also. In RL I have always been the oldest member and in fact I have only heard of one person who was older playing the game. In the infamous picture of the Tampa get-together I am the old fart. I am now 54. I am an electronic technican and have worked for Honeywell for over 30 years testing guidance system components for ICBMs. Minuteman, Posiden, Peacekeeper and now the Trident missle. I spent four years in the Marine Corps before that. I live in Tampa. I am a senior in college but have not attended in several years, got bored with it. I only go when I feel like it because I enjoy the learning. Hmmm, I took my first class in 1965! Maybe I will graduate before I die, maybe not ;-) |

Wind Wolf - Story
RL Story: I am currently going to Sheridan college in Ontario, Canada for Systems Analysis even though I just want to fix every computer problem that comes along rather than work with managers cause I hate business... can't figure it out for the life of me. I get by on marks (B average so far and I'm done in 1 week... FINALLY!!!!). I live with my parents because the rent and food is cheap while I'm in school ($0/month) and all I have to do is put up the Christmas tree and keep my music down. I've played many games... PC: SimCity, SimCity 2000, Doom, Doom 2, Quake (GREAT GAME), Quake 3, Total Annihilation, StarCraft and Brood War, Septerra Core, Wing Commander 2, 3 and Prophecy, Magic: The Gathering (also play in RL when I find an opponent), Diablo, Diablo 2, UO of course, and others. Nintendo: Dragon Warrior 1 & 3, TMNT 1,2,3 SNES: Final Fantasy 4 & 6 (US #s are 2 & 3), FZero, Zelda, a few others Sega Genesis: Phantasy Star 3, Sonic, others Playstation: Final Fantasy 5,6,7,8,9,Tactics, Chrono Cross, JetMoto 3, Marvel vs. Capcom, X-Men: Mutant Academy Arcade: Marvel vs. Capcom, Bust-A-Move (a.k.a. Bubbles), few others (no money) I play most of these pretty good, most of them I could play on a Professional level but don't. I first heard of UO back in the day prolly close to 3 years ago... when it first came out. I didn't have a good computer (486sx 30MHz, 14.4K modem) back then or any money so I had to hold off and wait. I got an ok computer after a bit and discovered Diablo. During my time in Diablo 1 I met a person named Havok and he off-handedly recruited me into a guild called the Brotherhood of X with the tag ~{X}~ and it was a PKK guild (Player-Killer Killers) and we helped new people so they wouldn't die. I did the web page for X and was 2nd in command about a week after I joined even though many members had been following Havok guild after guild (which I found out much later). Havok left after about 2 monthes and I was handed the leadership role. I handled this ok for a while until waiting for D2 for a year got everybody bored and everybody moved away from Diablo and X. The Christmas after that I got cable internet and 10 days later I remembered a game I had wanted to play for so long... Ultima Online. UO Story: I joined the citizenry of UO via the Lake Superior shard on January 28, 2000. I was a young when we started with 100 gold and that was a lot!. I had an OSI companion (which i found out later he wasn't just a friendly, helpful guy). He taught me about being a ranger and living in the forests, taming, camping, cooking, skinning, chopping, fletching and bowcraft. I learned a good way to make money from the first 3 hours of play... good start. I played pretty much every waking moment for one month. I met a few friends which you know today... Darkdah and Azra/Dale/Laura. Azra and I met first and he showed me everything he knew about being a mage... even through my persistance that I wanted to be a swordsman. It's because of Azra that I enjoy magery so much even to this day, which is one of the reasons you all know me by the name of my mage... Wind Wolf. After a short while (with Azra living in Germany I didn't see him during the day much), so I met Darkdah at Brit West bank and we made a pretty much instant-friendship and journeyed together. We taught each other many many things, this was easy since he was a mage and I had a warrior char and a weak mage. Then my free month ran out and I had no means of payment. Three monthes go buy and I get a little plastic credit card in the mail and 20 minutes later I've reactivated my account. In the 3-month period I keep in touch with Azra and Darkdah and I find that the Lake Superior shard is going down the tubes and that Darkdah has friends on Chessy and has moved there permanently. I follow him but remain to play on LS a bit. My first day back in UO and on the Chessy shard, Darkdah gave me a loan cheque of 20k to use to get up to speed. I used this wisely investing in magery and inscription and after a very short time (1 month) I've paid him back and am making a tidy UO living... even though still believing that 20k is a lifetime away. *grin* When I first moved to Chessy, Darkdah's friends were in a guild called Fallen Angels (FA, heh). This was the last day that I had of my free month. After I reactivated my account I find that the Fallen Angels guild does not exist anymore and Darkdah and his friends are now in this guild named DwB. He asks me to join and being friends, I join! Everybody at that time, and to this day remains, great people. I've enjoyed all my adventures and mis-adventures with my now long-time friends (you know who you are! *grins!*). I have also recruited my share, including bringing Azra from LS to Chessy and DwB. I can't say enough good things about the members of DwB! Thanks for the amazing times! During my first month in UO I'd be (classically) PK'd about 1billion times. I'd learned a bit about how to protect myself and could almost hold my own during a town-fight with 2 lizzies. But, on LS during my first month I was out in the forest north of Britain with my pack horse chopping wood trying to earn my first 20k! I was alone. A grey came up to me and I knew he was going to try to PK me. I had left all my armor in the bank knowing this could happen, but I had my GM katana and heater on me still in case I came upon a lizzy or ratman. I decided that 'coward' suited me fine just then and I used my 60-something hiding to hide... but couldn't hide my pack horse. The PK decided he'd attack my horse to try to lure me out! I'm watching the health bars of my horse and him and after about 5 mins I see that my pack is winning! He exclaims something like "Stupid tactics!" and keeps trying but after a bit I decide it's worthwhile to arm and start attacking. Well he's so low that he has to run off or die to a 2-week old char and his pack horse! ROFL! I ran him off and got my wood and horse back to town and to the bank ok. About 2 hours later I'm doing the same thing still and I see him come up on the screen. I arm my kat and shield again and yell "Want some more?!" and he runs off again! The feeling of having a PK afraid of you after only 2 weeks is amazing! Too bad 50% of the UO population have never been able to experience this feeling. Trammel also hinders the job of the 'Protecter' since the only things that will kill you now in Trammel are monsters and bandits. Oh well, I still remember. |
